Welcome to the Lampard Road Club

The Lampard Road Club is a road cycling club based in the Hatfield and St Albans area of Hertfordshire, but drawing in members from all over the county. The club was formed in 1950 and throughout its history has offered its members a wide range of competitive and social events. We run regular Sunday rides taking in the finest of our Hertfordshire lanes, along with several reliabilty rides over varying distances organised at regular intervals throughout the year. The club is also affiliated to British Cycling and Cycling Time Trials for those members who wish to race.

The monthly Sunday rides start from The War Memorial in St Albans and alternate between two routes, one heading out to Hitchin and back for refreshments at Cafe Gusto in Harpenden, the other heading out via Whipsnade and Eaton Bray before returning to The Hub, Redbourn for refreshments. Both rides being about 40 miles.

The reliability rides take place over 30 miles (Hilly), 50 miles, 50 miles (Hilly) and 100km spread throughout the year.

In addition there is a Wednesday evening training ride commencing from Hatfield Station or the Rookery Café, Welham Green, distance and route depending on the time of year.

Members also participate in time trials and can compete for the club 10 mile and 25 mile championships in the nominated events for the year.
